As you head into the Thanksgiving break this week, take a couple of minutes to watch this:
This is something I have been sharing with people at recent presentations I have done, because I love the simple, profound message it delivers. Often, we are so busy looking outside ourselves for answers – for inspiration, for validation, for evidence of great things – that we don’t fully appreciate the everyday wonders that lie within us, and the sheer beauty of being alive. To be able to see and feel, to taste that holiday dinner, to laugh and love with friends and family … could there be any greater gifts than these to be thankful for?
As you gather around the Thanksgiving table, and give thanks for all the wonderful things in your life, don’t forget to take a moment to reflect on these most elemental natural wonders, for they are the wonders that make it possible to fully appreciate everything else of value in your life.
When you think about it, it is both exalting and humbling to realize that we contain these everyday miracles within ourselves.
