Four Spear Faculty Members Present at the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Conference

This year’s American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry’s (AAED) annual meeting, featured a lineup of outstanding speakers, including presentations from four of Spear’s distinguished Resident Faculty.

Scottsdale, AZ – Do you ever wonder where the Spear faculty get their continuing education (CE)? This year’s American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry’s (AAED) annual meeting, featured a lineup of outstanding speakers, including presentations from four of Spear’s distinguished Resident Faculty. The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED) is the world’s most preeminent interdisciplinary academy. This year’s invite-only meeting, held August 9-11, was comprised of a select group of restorative dentists and specialists, which include 70 Fellows and 70 Associate members.

This prestigious event gathers world-renowned professionals known for their outstanding contributions to esthetic dentistry. Many of the Spear Faculty members actively contributed to the success of this year’s AAED conference, with Dr. Jim Janakievski as the program chairman and Dr. Frank Spear taking on the role of ‘moderator’ on the final day.

The conference showcased the expertise of Spear’s educators through a series of insightful presentations:

• Dr. Jim Janakievski and Dr. Gregg Kinzer collaborated on a presentation titled “Interdisciplinary Collaboration to Optimize Treatment Outcomes,” providing valuable insights into the synergy between different dental disciplines to achieve the best treatment results.
• Rebecca Bockow’s presentation, “An Evolution in Orthodontics – New Knowledge to Direct Today’s Treatment Plans,” shed light on the latest advancements in orthodontic practices and their impact on contemporary treatment approaches.
• Dr. Michael Gunson’s session, “Out in Front of Esthetic Dentistry – The Lips,” delved into the crucial role of lip aesthetics in enhancing overall esthetic dental outcomes.

Moreover, the conference was also attended by Dr. Jeffery Bonk and Dr. Bob Winter, exemplifying their status as elite professionals in the field.

Spear Faculty’s long-standing association with the AAED underscores their dedication and influence within the esthetic dentistry community. Notably, Dr. Spear served as the President of the organization in 2002, followed by Dr. Winter’s term as President in 2015. Currently, Dr. Kinzer holds the position of President-Elect and is poised to assume the role of President in 2025, while Dr. Janakievski is slated to become President in 2030.

Established in 1975 by Dr. Ronald Goldstein and Dr. Charles Pincus, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry has grown into an influential institution with members from the United States and 12 other countries. Headquartered in Chicago and governed by an esteemed Executive Council, the Academy’s commitment to excellence has solidified its reputation in the field.
