Spear Education Welcomes Dr. Tom Leonard as Director of Curriculum Operations

Spear Education is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Tom Leonard as our new Director of Curriculum Operations. In his new role, Dr. Leonard will lead efforts to consolidate curriculum operations, ensuring the seamless production and delivery of premium educational content across online platforms, Study Clubs, and campus programs.

His journey in dentistry is as diverse as it is inspiring. A graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, he has traversed various roles, including private practice, full-time professorship, and leadership within the U.S. Army, where he dedicated nine years of service.

Most recently, Dr. Leonard held the position of vice president of clinical practice, doctor development, and orthodontics at Great Expressions Dental Centers, a national DSO renowned for its expansive network and commitment to clinical excellence. In this role, Dr. Leonard oversaw the career development of more than 500 licensed providers, the orthodontics and Invisalign services lines, and served as chief of staff to the chief clinical officer.

Dr. Leonard isn’t new to Spear, however. “I’ve been a member of the Spear Online community for about 10 years — it transformed the way I practiced dentistry and showed me what high-quality dental education really looks like,” he said. “I am so proud to now be part of this team and look forward to contributing in any way I can, while continuing to learn and grow as a dentist and clinician.”
