Spear and Align Technology Partner To Launch Innovative Courses for General Practitioners

Equipping general practitioners to deliver comprehensive digital care with confidence

Spear Education and Align Technology are launching a new series of Spear courses that will enable general practitioners to implement new digital workflows that integrate with restorative and orthodontic care. The collaboration combines Spear’s industry-leading approach to teaching treatment planning with Align’s advanced digital technologies, including the iTero Lumina™ scanner, Invisalign Smile Architect™, Invisalign® Outcome Simulator Pro, and ClinCheck® software, to deliver hands-on, outcome-driven training.

“This partnership represents a unique opportunity to blend esthetic and functional planning with real-world orthodontic and restorative execution,” said Dr. Dan Butterman, DDS, chief dental officer at Spear Education. “It’s about giving doctors a clear, digital roadmap, from diagnosis to delivery, so they can treat patients more effectively with long-lasting restorations.” This fall, two courses will be taught by seasoned Spear Faculty members:

Lumina Mastery

• Instructor: Dr. Mike Skramstad
• Focus: Scanning protocols, patient communication, and seamless CAD/CAM integration using the iTero Lumina scanner.

• Instructors: Dr. Tyler Rathburn and Dr. Michael Chu
• Focus: Next-generation restorative workflows blending esthetics, function, and orthodontics using digital tools, including Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro and ClinCheck.

These courses are ideal for general practitioners who use or are considering the iTero Lumina scanner, those who have completed or enrolled in Align certification programs, and clinicians seeking to expand their use of clear aligners in restorative cases.

Each immersive course offers lecture and hands-on instruction in Spear’s state-of-the-art campus, equipping attendees with practical skills they can immediately apply in everyday practice. As an added benefit, all participants will receive a free annual Spear Online membership to continue learning beyond the workshop.
