Official: Leila Zadeh Women in Dentistry Board Member

Leila Zadeh, DMD, MAGD, Director of Digital Clinical Content at Spear Education, has been appointed as a Women in Dentistry board member and will be a section editor for its quarterly publication, Spectrum Dental Teamwork.

The appointment of Leila Zadeh Women in Dentistry board member marks a significant step in her leadership and reflects her growing influence in restorative dentistry and digital workflows.

In her dual role, she will also lead a recurring column, From Bench to Chairside, focused on one of the most important and often overlooked challenges in modern dentistry: improving the connection between clinical decision-making and laboratory execution.

Leadership role of a Women in Dentistry board member

As digital workflows expand and clinicians assume greater in-house responsibility for design and production, the line between the operatory and the laboratory continues to blur. Therefore, many clinicians can benefit from understanding how their decisions impact final restorative outcomes.

Through practical, real-world insights, From Bench to Chairside is designed to bridge the gap between clinical dentistry and laboratory execution, improving predictability in modern restorative workflows.

The appointment of Leila Zadeh Women in Dentistry board member reflects a broader shift toward integrated, collaborative care.

A Spear leader with a perspective shaped by clinic and lab

After completing her postdoctoral residency program, Dr. Zadeh decided to train as a dental laboratory technician and continues to actively perform much of her own lab work in private practice.

This combination gives her a direct understanding of how treatment planning decisions, records collected, and impressions made chairside translate into physical, prosthetic outcomes, which is an increasingly critical skillset as CAD/CAM technologies bring more of the lab into the dental practice.

At Spear, she leads digital clinical content development and serves as a Visiting Faculty member, helping clinicians build confidence in delivering higher-quality care. Dr. Zadeh’s appointment with WID reflects that evolution and reinforces Spear’s commitment to practical, real-world learning that helps clinicians make better decisions and deliver stronger patient outcomes.

She also serves as an adjunct assistant professor at NYU Langone’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. She remains active in complex restorative and implant care at Revive Dental Implant Center in Mesa, Arizona.

She is also a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (pending ceremony in June 2026), having completed over 2,000 hours of advanced continuing dental education, and having served as the CE Chair for the Arizona Academy of General Dentistry.

Why this role matters now

Dentistry no longer operates in silos.

Digital workflows, CAD/CAM technology, and in-house production have changed how clinicians approach treatment. Success now depends on understanding how information moves from planning to final restoration.

Extending the impact beyond the page

Dr. Zadeh’s appointment reflects that evolution and reinforces Spear’s commitment to practical, real-world learning that helps clinicians make better decisions and deliver stronger patient outcomes.

Leila Zadeh Women in Dentistry board member represents a meaningful step in that direction, bringing clinical and laboratory perspectives together in one place, while her role as section editor further expands that impact.

Her leadership also extends beyond the page. Dr. Zadeh will attend the upcoming Women in Dentistry Retreat at Spear Campus in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Oct. 16-17, where clinicians will come together to learn, collaborate, and grow in a supportive, peer-driven environment.

Designed to foster connection and clinical growth, the retreat brings together women in dentistry to share insights, strengthen leadership skills, and explore new approaches to patient care. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with experienced clinicians like Dr. Zadeh, participate in meaningful discussions, and gain practical strategies they can apply immediately in their practices.

The event also reflects the same principles highlighted in From Bench to Chairside, emphasizing collaboration, communication, and a deeper understanding of the full restorative process. For clinicians looking to build confidence, broaden their perspective, and connect with a like-minded community, the retreat offers a valuable, immersive experience.
