restorative All clinicians would love to see ideal outcomes in all of their restorative cases treated in a periodontal perspective. The key to a successful outcome restoratively is to create ideal tooth form and to position the soft tissue at an appropriate level. If the patient doesn't have restorations, clinicians should look at the cemento-enamel junction to maximize the anatomic crown exposure.

At the end of the day, you look at the oral environment and can appreciate the transformation in the patient's smile, but more importantly, you can see a transformation of not only the smile, but how the restorations have positively impacted the patient's self-image or character in their full-face images.

In our new course, The Periodontal-Restorative Interface, Dr. Bob Winter gives you his perspective on the interaction of disciplines in restorative dentistry with periodontal concerns.

After viewing this course on periodontics and restorative dentistry, you'll have a better understanding of:

  • Visualizing outcomes for restorative procedures with periodontal concerns

  • Potential causes for recession
