Summit 2019

For the past 10 years, Spear Summit has united dentistry’s best and brightest at what has evolved into one of the industry’s most inspirational events.

This year, the 11th annual Summit – scheduled for Sept. 19-21 – moves to the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, a spacious new venue located just north of the Spear Campus in Scottsdale. ( Visit our save the date page to register and book accommodations).

The guest speaker lineup for Spear Summit 2019 includes:

  • Lou Berman, D.D.S., F.A.C.D.
  • Lorenzo Breschi, D.D.S., Ph.D., F.A.D.M.
  • Michael Gunson, D.D.S., M.D.
  • David Mathews, D.D.S
  • Nazariy Mykhaylyuk, D.M.D.
  • Katja Nelson, D.D.S., Ph.D.
  • Robert Ritter, D.M.D.
  • Claude Sieber
  • Marcos Vargas, B.D.B., D.D.S., M.S

Presentations include the Summit return of Dr. Mathews, a Spear emeritus and longtime periodontist who will share the stage with his friend, Dr. Frank Spear. You’ll learn how the two masters maximized their referral relationship over many successful years in practice, and how you can drive similar growth and stability.

Other presentations include those by Dr. Berman, who has recently brought his expert endodontics perspective to Spear specialist workshops and online curricula, and Sieber, an expert dental technician and world authority on dental ceramics and light.

Dr. Gunson's “Esthetics of Speaking, Breathing and Eating” will highlight best practices for orthognathic surgery, facial esthetics, obstructive sleep apnea and the treatment of TMJ arthritis and condylar resorption.

Drs. Breschi (bonding), Mykhaylyuk (analog vs. digital), Nelson (implants), Vargas (composites) and Ritter (Google reviews) will also provide a wealth of unique perspectives on key issues that impact your practice.

Spear Resident Faculty presentations address topics ranging from occlusion and joints to practice management strategies to grow in an increasingly competitive market. Meanwhile, Dr. Rebecca Bockow will address MARPE (miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expander) as it relates to orthodontics and airway.

While returnees may know what to expect from the caliber of presentations, Summit first-timers discover that faculty members have the gift of being able to energize audiences and distill complex clinical topics into easily digestible terms that any doctor can take home to implement in his or her own practice.

Between faculty presenters and guest speakers, Summit attendees are exposed to the timeliest strategies to address a variety of challenges to improve clinically and meet their practice goals.
