curing attachments into overdentures We have all enjoyed using bis-acryl material to fabricate our provisionals. I did however continue to use conventional denture repair acrylic to cure attachments into overdentures.

There was always the issue of setting time (10 minutes on a good day), odor (offensive for everyone), dappen dishes/brushes and touch-ups (another 10 minutes). The list goes on and on.

I know of two companies that make a tissue/denture tinted bis-acryl for picking up attachments and making repairs. These products are fantastic. The denture resin is adjusted lightly with a bur to remove any surface impurities and then a resin is applied and air-dried for 30 seconds.

The bi-sacryl is placed in the denture and once the denture is seated, it only takes about two and a half minutes. I have had 100 percent success using this material during the last six months. The ease of use and time involved makes it my go-to denture (repair) resin now.

The companies that I know of that make it are Sterngold's ERA Pickup and Voco's Quickup. Give it a try on your next removable case where you would be reaching for the conventional denture acrylic. I think you'll really be pleased.

Nice post...another extremely useful material we use in residency for picking up locators is Holme's Qyk-Set....get the bonding advantages of acrylic and it sets completely in 2 minutes. As always...whatever works best in your hands may be better for the patient....Cheers.

Any problems between the bond btw the denture acrylic and the bis-acryl? Any type of adhesive needed?

I've been considering getting my dentures repairs in Rio Rancho NM. I've heard there's a pretty good little place that does it for affordable prices.
