Dr. Phillips is a well-respected practitioner and educator in the field of advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Following two years of service in the Air Force, he established a private practice in Arkansas and relocated to Asheville, N.C. in 1998. Throughout his years in practice, he has broadened his skills in esthetic, restorative and implant dentistry through completion of advanced courses to stay on the cutting edge of dental developments. In addition to his full-time practice, he serves as a mentor for dentists who are involved in their post-graduation education at The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Fla.

Dr. Phillips has completed extensive training in implant dentistry at the prestigious Misch Implant Institute and is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Spear Faculty Club and Study Club, the L. D. Pankey Alumni Association, the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Association and the Buncombe County Dental Society. As a sleep apnea specialist, he also is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

An honors graduate of the Baylor College of Dentistry, Dr. Phillips completed a general practice residency in the U.S. Air Force in 1980.
