Midwestern University ASDA Chapter Photography Workshop
I invited Midwestern University’s American Student Dental Association (ASD) chapter to Spear Education on Saturday, August 13for a photography workshop. We discussed cameras, photography in the dental practice, and how to make the most of the images in diagnosis, planning, and patient communication.
More than 30 students from the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd year classes attended the workshop and had the opportunity to take all 18 of the clinical images taught in Facially Generated Treatment Planning on their clinical partners.
Eleven groups of three participants per operatory experienced being doctor (photographer), assistant, and patient using the digital camera systems available from PhotoMed or their own cameras. The half-day session ended with a review of a selection of images taken by the students.
I was joined in teaching the workshop by Lee Brady, Cheryl DeWood, and Gerard Charanduk, which made it possible for each group to have interactions with faculty throughout the workshop. What a BLAST!
