Lifelong Learning: Personal and Professional
In the last eight years I have lived in four different states, owned four different homes and held four different distinct positions within dentistry. The single biggest life lesson out of this journey is that the learning never ends.
Learning new professional skills as well as learning new personal skills has been the best part of the last eight years. We all grow as we learn and I am certainly a broader person because of my experiences. Opening myself to learning about the states in which I lived as well as the details of the positions which I have held has been a great adventure.
This is what excites me most about finding a home with Spear Education. In some small way it is the culmination of my learnings from the last eight years from a skills perspective, but being part of an institution where learning is job #1 is the most exciting part. It is wonderful to be surrounded by such a great faculty and striving dentists eager to learn.
I think that is why I was so drawn to be the new steward of the Faculty Club. It is not just that I can help administrate a group of fellow dentists. It is much more than that. The opportunity to be surrounded by colleagues from all over the world who also have a passion for lifelong learning is truly inspiring to me to maintain my own quest for lifelong learning.
I look forward to seeing the more than 500 dentists coming to Scottsdale next week who are eager to learn. I cannot think of a better place to be.
